List of UN agencies

At the beginning of the establishment of the UN, there were 6 principle organizations. But later in the years the no of organizations have increased . These organizations are called specialized organizations and apart from these organizations there are other form of organizations which are related to the UN Secretariat, treaty organizations and research organizations.

Some of the specialized organizations are listed below :

• International Civil Aviation Organization 
• International Fund for Agricultural Development

There are 2 departments and office of the UN secretariat and they are :

• Office of the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs
• United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs 

Also, there are 3 treaty organization of the UN :

• International Seabed Authority 
• Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organization 
• Organization for the prohibition of Chemical Weapons
